What is Wilderness First Aid?


A set of skills to equip outdoor recreation leaders to coordinate emergency response, and to provide first aid to casualties in a remote or isolated area over an extended period of time until medical assistance is provided or evacuation occurs.

The course is designed for those who work in remote areas. Our clientele consists of the Outdoor Education sector, the Adventure Tourism industry and government/private agencies that require an ability to administer first aid in remote and wilderness environments. We are considered as one of the premier trainers of Wilderness First Aid in Australia.

This Wilderness First Aid training meets the requirements of the Australian Vocational Education Training System. It aligns with the Wilderness First Aid National Skill Set SISSS00126.

Your training and assessment covers the following VET units:

  • HLTAID011 - Provide first aid
  • SISOFLD004 - Provide first aid in remote locations
  • SISXEMR002 - Coordinate emergency responses
